COLUMBIA — South Carolina senior first baseman LB Dantzler is one of 60 players in the nation named to the 2013 Golden Spikes Award watch list, as announced by USA Baseball.
Dantzler is the team’s leading hitter in all three triple crown categories with a .342 average (55 for 161) with 12 homers and 44 RBIs.
Dantzler currently ranks third in the SEC in homers (12) and slugging percentage (.658), tied for third in doubles (13), fourth in total bases (106), tied for fourth in walks (28), fifth in runs batted in (44), seventh in on-base percentage (.447) and 12th in batting average (.342).
He has an eight-game hitting streak and has reached base safely in 22 straight games.
Clemson men’s tennis players Yannick Maden and Dominique Maden were awarded bids to the NCAA individual singles and doubles tournaments to be held May 22-27 at the Khan Outdoor Tennis Complex/Atkins Tennis Center in Urbana, Ill.
